Adventures of the Maybug

After a long snowy winter, spring has finally arrived. Warm gentle rays of the sun warmed the forest clearing and the head of a large beetle appeared from the black damp earth. He crawled out of the hole, moved his antennae, looked around and smiled.

May beetles and their larvae overwinter by burrowing into soft soil.

It was surrounded by thickets of green grass, bright flowers and tall trees. Everything was colorful and fabulously beautiful. The beetle itself was red-brown in color, with a hard back, six legs, antennae, and a little covered with hairs. He saw that in the clearing, besides him, there were other insects: hardworking ants were hurrying somewhere about their business, green grasshoppers were jumping from grass to grass, aerial butterflies and dragonflies were flying and spinning in the air, flies were buzzing somewhere, Bees and bumblebees were working in bright flowers, collecting sweet nectar.

The cockchafer decided that he needed to say hello to the inhabitants of the fairy-tale world of insects. He was very polite. The beetle crawled up to the hard-working ant, greeted him and asked what he was doing. The ant replied that he and his brothers were helping to repair their large house - the anthill in which they spent the winter.

Ants spend the winter in the anthill, blocking all the passages and exits so that the cold does not penetrate inside.

The beetle looked closely and saw that all the ants together carried pebbles, sand, twigs, strengthening the home, and some ants carried food into their common home - plant seeds, edible roots, and the remains of other insects.

Ants feed on plants, achenes, insect remains and their larvae.

-Where are my brothers beetles? Maybe you know? – the cockchafer asked the ant. The ant replied that he did not know, but maybe the wise ladybug knew.

- Where can I find her? Help me please? - the beetle turned to the ant.

- Of course I will help you! She lives on the leaves of a large tree. - answered the ant.

And the cockchafer and the ant went to look for a path to a large tree, making their way between tall thickets of grass and flowers. They did not yet know that a long road awaited them, full of dangers and adventures.

Suddenly the shadow of a large bird flew over the clearing. All the insects who had time hid under the leaves and grass. A black rook circled over the clearing, looking for insects to grab with its large beak. The cockchafer and the ant barely managed to hide from the big bird.

Rooks feed on small insects and larvae, including chafers.

Outdoor game "Birds and insects".

The teacher explains the rules of the game. Children are divided into two teams - birds and insects. You can assign boys as birds, and girls as insects, or vice versa.

The children's song "Old Beetle" . The teacher invites the birds to stand in a circle and dance in a circle - to build a large nest. Children - insects at this time run and play, pretending to be beetles.

The teacher plays the children's song "Birds" . With this signal, some children - birds fly off to catch beetles, grabbing their hands and try to bring and collect them inside the round dance - the nest. Those who are caught remain in the circle and, according to the rules of the game, no longer run away, but squat down. When all the beetles are caught, you can switch roles.

After the game, the teacher invites the children to take their seats and listen to the continuation of the fairy tale.

The chafer really wanted to find his brothers, and he and the ant continued their journey to the large tree where the wise ladybug lived to learn from her everything about the chafer's brothers.

On the way, the friends saw a beautiful flower with a buzzing sound in its petals. This big furry bumblebee was collecting flower pollen for lunch.

Bumblebees feed on pollen and nectar from plants.

- Dear bumblebee, please tell me how we can get to the tree faster? - asked the cockchafer.

“I’ll show you the way, follow me,” the bumblebee answered and flew very low above the ground, showing the way to the tree.

So the friends got to the tree. They thanked the bumblebee, and he flew off to collect nectar. The cockchafer and the ant had to climb the tree to meet the ladybug, but they did not know what to do. The ant could climb up the trunk, but the beetle could not crawl like its friend. At that moment, our insect friends saw a butterfly. She flew near the tree looking for bright flowers.

Butterflies fly from flower to flower, feeding on pollen and nectar of plants. They drink nectar with their proboscis.

The cockchafer greeted the butterfly and asked her for advice on how to get onto the branches of the tree.

- Maybe you will lift me on your wings? - the beetle asked her.

“I won’t be able to lift you, but you can fly on your own,” answered the butterfly. – You have wings!

The beetle was very surprised. He really has wings, but he hasn't used them yet, hasn't tried to fly.

May beetles can fly and move a load in flight that is 850 times heavier than the beetle itself.

The butterfly and ant advised the beetle to spread its wings and wave them. The beetle stood on its hind legs and moved its wings. It turned out that he has hard wings, and underneath them there are also soft transparent wings. He took more air into his belly, sighed several times, flapped all his wings and took off from the ground, flying noisily over the clearing.

Physical exercise "Chafer bug".

The teacher invites the children to portray a cockchafer: stand up, raise their arms - wings, stretching upward, take in air and exhale, inhale - exhale several times, wave their arms - wings, buzz.

- Hooray! Happened! – the butterfly and ant were happy. The cockchafer landed in a clearing at the foot of the tree, placed the ant on its shoulders, and flew to a tree branch, and the butterfly returned to its flowers to collect sweet pollen. On a tree, fellow travelers saw a wise ladybug. Its back was red with round black spots. Ladybug was very kind, she helped everyone.

Ladybugs live in trees, bushes and grass.

- Hello, ladybug! – the cockchafer addressed her. – I’m looking for my brothers, please help me!

Before the beetle could finish speaking, a bird flew over them. It was a starling. He was looking for insects that he could profit from.

The beetle and ant hastened to hide under the leaves of the branch, fearing the bird. They were very surprised that the ladybug did not hide from the starling; she was not afraid of him.

Birds don't hunt ladybugs. Their bright color scares away enemies.

When the bird flew away, the friends turned to the ladybug again. She told the cockchafer that he could meet his brothers when it got dark. In the dark, all the cockchafers flock to the place where there is light.

The beetle and the ant looked to where the sun was. It was just about to disappear over the horizon. Evening came and it began to get dark. The cockchafer thanked the ant and the ladybug for their help, and flew to where the lantern was burning, meeting his brothers - the beetles. He was very glad that during his journey he made many friends and finally met his brothers. The end of the fairy tale.

Didactic games

Mishutka has an apiary. Help him place the bees in the hives. The blue hive contains large striped bees, the red hive contains small striped bees, and the yellow hive contains all the others. Count the bees in each hive. Paint as many flowers near each hive as there are bees in it.

Draw as many berries on the outside of the jar as there are inside. Paint three bees on the outside and two on the inside of the jar.

How many flowers are there in the meadow? How many bees? Will there be enough flowers for all the bees? To find out, connect each bee and flower with a line. Circle the same number of ants as there are bees in the picture.

We are looking for a Butterfly . The wings of a butterfly are covered with small scales; if they are erased, the butterfly will not be able to fly and will die. The butterfly has a long, thin, curved proboscis, which it lowers into the flower and drinks the delicious juice.
