The effectiveness of law enforcement agencies to ensure the security of individuals, society and the state largely depends on the level of their technical equipment and on the real ability to adequately and timely respond to challenges and threats from criminals.
In this regard, it is difficult to overestimate the importance of the next International Forum “Security Technologies” held under the auspices of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. We attach key importance to promoting direct contacts between representatives of government authorities and the business community, on which, ultimately, depends on how effective the implementation of current tasks will be. At the same time, we count on the return not only from large-scale projects, but also on the increasingly significant contribution of private medium and small businesses. The issue of interstate dialogue, which is intended to become an effective tool in the fight against the ideology of terrorism and any other manifestations of extremism that impose on humanity the path of violence, the conflict of cultures and civilizations, is also extremely important. A clear indication of this, in particular, is the consideration provided by the Forum format of various aspects of ensuring the security of a citizen, organization, settlement, region, through the implementation of advanced technological solutions. At the end of last year, the Government of the Russian Federation approved the Concept for the construction and development of the “Safe City” hardware and software complex, aimed at increasing the overall level of environmental safety, public safety and public order, and the Forum agenda already includes a discussion of basic issues that determine the effectiveness of the implementation of this Concepts.
