Toys for kindergarten by groups

Most toys for kindergarten allow children to learn about the color, shape, size and physical characteristics of objects while playing with them. Toys usually grow with children. As they grow up, the possibilities of toys expand; they often become “heroes” of role-playing games.

General characteristics of toys

Some toys for toddlers should be designed to open and close so that small objects can be inserted and removed. For the purpose of mastering such actions, light, comfortable and attractive molds are suitable - smooth or rough, ribbed objects that are easy to manipulate.

To study the names of the figurines, a set of toys for a kindergarten must have all the variety of geometric shapes, as well as other shapes (animal figurines, stars, numbers, letters, a car, etc.).

It is very good if there are toys in the garden that teachers call autodidactic, that is, self-learning toys that have amazing properties - they themselves “tell” the child how to handle them. Such toys primarily include sorters. “Boxes of Shapes” are taken from teaching materials from the school of Italian teacher Maria Montessori. They are used to develop and train a child’s logical thinking, fine motor skills, concentration, and gain knowledge about different forms.

This toy is made in the form of a cube (most often) with holes or recesses. Being a container for figurines, it can be made in a shape that is interesting to a child: a car, a house, a suitcase, etc. The slots for figurines match the shape of the figurines: a geometric figure, a flower, a star, a letter... Some sorters are equipped with a soft handle for carrying . Edges can be transparent. Different materials can be used to make a toy: lightweight multi-colored plastic, wood, soft textured fabric. It is possible to combine materials in one group.

The same toy can also perform other educational functions. For example, if it is equipped with abacus, a clock, tools for disassembling and assembling a container structure, keys for closing and opening doors, and colored appliqués attached to the edges.

Currently, musical toys are also popular. When the task is completed correctly, a cheerful melody sounds and sound effects are heard. At the same time, multi-colored light bulbs can play in time with the music. Such a toy stimulates the understanding of cause and effect, and the preschooler's curiosity is rewarded with musical surprises.

By offering children in kindergarten toys of different colors, sizes, shapes, textures, we help develop color and shape perception, promote a variety of tactile sensations, and improve the child’s coordination of movements and fine motor skills. This gives the children a feeling of confidence and independence. In addition, they train their hands for subsequent actions with objects of various shapes and sizes, and learn their properties.

When choosing toys for kindergarten, it is important to take into account some nuances, because success in teaching children largely depends on whether the toy is chosen correctly:

  • the size of figures and small parts should be 4-5 cm
  • the figures should be optimal in shape, easy to grasp with a small hand
  • for toys consisting of halves-parts, these parts with the contents inside (small objects) must be securely fastened so that small parts do not fall apart (this is dangerous, since a child can accidentally inhale or swallow them)
  • fabric toys must have a solid frame so that the walls do not collapse under hand pressure
  • the surfaces of wooden toys must be smoothly sanded and evenly painted, otherwise children may get splinters on their fingers
  • it is necessary to evaluate the quality of plastic toys for kindergarten: its uniformity, uniform distribution of paint, absence of irregularities and burrs
  • For musical toys for kindergarten, the volume of music, the choice of melodies and their “electronic” performance should not cause unpleasant auditory sensations.

Recommended toys for kindergarten

Parents often wonder what toys children need for proper development. In fact, the answer is quite simple - everything that helps a child understand the world around him and get acquainted with phenomena unknown to him so far is suitable for play. There are special recommendations from qualified specialists in the field of child psychology who identify toys that are especially useful for children’s development, distributing them in accordance with the child’s age.

It’s worth starting with recommendations for children of the youngest group , whose age category is 2-3 years. It is at this age that all the basic knowledge and basic concepts about the world around us are laid down on a subconscious level, so it is very important to surround the child with the right things so that he enters an older age consciously.

At the same time, it is at this age that children are terrible fidgets who cannot sit in one place and study every subject that is more or less interesting to them. They can even play with a plastic bag, finding some use for it - after all, it rustles and flies in the air so cool! On the one hand, a child at this age needs to be closely monitored - he is interested in absolutely everything, including what can harm him, but he does not know about it yet. Therefore, toys with small parts, sharp ends, or those that can break are not recommended for children of this age.

As for specific recommendations, psychologists are unanimous in the following three categories of toys that are useful for the development of children in the younger group of kindergarten:

  1. these are various dolls and toys that embody any characters or animals;
  2. cards with drawings and inscriptions;
  3. all kinds of sets with multi-colored letters and numbers.

The former help children develop their imagination and creativity, inventing new role-playing games and endowing toys with various qualities - somewhere a doll will be a mother, somewhere a daughter, and you can also come up with a game in which people and animals are “friends.”

The latter lay down visual images: despite the fact that children do not yet know how to read inscriptions, they will remember the picture, and if the child reads what is written there, he will definitely put it in his memory.

The usefulness of the third point - sets - is unconditional, because all such games help children learn the basics of literacy and arithmetic. At least they will definitely remember the spelling, and besides, putting colorful letters and numbers into beautiful rows is very exciting for children.

The next age category is children of the middle group , from three to four years old. Children of this age are more interested in learning the game more deeply, learning how it can be developed and what will happen next, so they are a little more diligent. Now the most important games for them are the construction of various houses and figures from cubes or construction sets, as well as the same role-playing games with dolls and character toys.

Only now children can be offered, for example, clothes for dolls, “furniture”, and all this is implemented very simply - pieces of fabric can act as clothing, and the same construction set and cubes can act as furniture. Endowing objects with special properties and characteristics helps develop the child’s imagination and makes him understand how life is arranged in the adult world - a house, furniture, clothes, and so on. Cards with inscriptions will also come in handy - now the child is better able to learn and there is a chance that at four years old he will already be well prepared for school.

The last age category is the senior and preparatory groups of kindergarten . Children are already gradually preparing for school, which means they need to focus on learning the alphabet and simple counting. The same cubes will do, but now with letters and numbers - you need to collect words and sentences from them. Cards with inscriptions (they are called Doman cards) will already take on a different meaning, children will be able to spell the words themselves and understand their meaning.

Also at this age in kindergarten, children are recommended games that develop finger dexterity - mosaics are suitable, which, among other things, develop attention and the ability to concentrate on a task, as well as construction sets and hand-assembled toys with smaller parts that require a little tinkering with. achieving results.

For all kindergartens there is a regulated list of toys that must be available. The requirements for them are the same: safety for children's health, absence of toxic substances and too small parts. Kindergarten must have:

— Toys-characters: dolls, figurines of people, animals, etc..;

— Toy objects: dishes, toy tools, etc.; various kinds of transport toys;

— Didactic (educational) games and toys: pyramids, inserts, mosaics, puzzles, etc.;

— Printed board games and materials: cut-out pictures, puzzles, sets depicting fruits, vegetables, various objects; children's dominoes, board games like "Loto";

— Materials for simple experimentation: metal, wood and other objects.

Parents themselves, as a rule, most often bring educational toys and character toys to kindergartens, since, in their opinion, this is most useful for children - and rightly so. Educators agree with them - according to the results of a survey, which toys parents are most often asked to buy, more than 50% are occupied by educational games - including various sets made of cardboard - in second place is “kitchen utensils” - dishes, chairs; on the third - soft toys-characters.

In conclusion, we can add that what is most important is not the toy itself, but the way it is presented to the child - the more interesting the teacher or parent presents the game, the more exciting it will seem to the children and the more benefits they can get from it.
